What is this test about?

The pearson test of english is an english proficiency test aimed at the assessment of a candidate’s promptitude of non-anglophones to partake in a university-level English language instruction program. Accepted by embassies and employers worldwide, this computer-based test allows study abroad aspirants to get enrolled in their dream colleges, such as Harvard Business School, INSEAD, and Yale University. Who is this for?

There are two types of Pearson Test of English, academic and general. The PTE Academic test is basically for those candidates who wish to pursue their further studies in foreign English-speaking nations.
